Migrant worker receives counselling support
Nasima’s relationship with her husband ended many years ago. The husband refused to take
responsibilities for their two daughters and one son. Then she raised the children somehow but
they could barely get food. Her two daughters are married and the son contributed to the family,
but Nasima could not take the burden of heavy debt which was accumulated. She decided to go
abroad. With the hep of a distant relative's uncle who was a subagent she was offered a job
abroad and she was sent to Saudi Arabia.
On 23/10/2019 Nasima went to Saudi Arabia on a work visa with a monthly salary of BDT 16,000.
There she worked as a caregiver to take care of the children in many big houses, but she did not
understand the language. So, the little children of the house did not like her. There was a Filipino
who worked in that house for a long time and the children liked that person, so Kalpana could
not stay there for more than a month. Later in the month, the recruiting office arranged for her

son forced her to involve in unethical activities but Nasima refused to comply. Then he started
blackmailing her by showing the previously recorded personal videos of Nasima, threatening her
that he would share those videos on social media and to her family members. When Nasima
narrated the whole incident to the employer’s wife, she assured her that she would take action
against her son and instructed her not to tell this to the employer.
In the meantime, Nasima met a Bangladeshi young man through the IMO app. The Bangladeshi
proposed marriage to Nasima thinking she was rich and she refused. She tried to make the young
man understand that she had children and grandchildren, and she did not want to marry anyone.
The young man forced her to marry him. He started sending various improper pictures to Nasima.
The employer’s son saw those pictures and made Nasima look bad to everyone and beat her up
a lot. Then he left her in the office of a subagent in Saudi Arabia without paying her a month's
