He was in need of a huge amount for his sister’s marriage. A person from his native suggested an agency for housekeeping work abroad for a salary of Rs. 22,000 per month. But the job's nature was entirely different from what the agency said. Instead, they assigned construction work with Rs. 20,000 as a wags. He was finding it difficult to pay for his accommodation and food expenses as he was not getting the full salary every month. Also his working hours per day were more than 10 hours. A few months later during the Covid pandemic, Mr. Prabha was employed with no wages for 4 months. Thus, his family couldn’t cope with the basic expenses and also was unable to pay his debts. From the reintegration support he received, he bought a dairy cow. Mr. Prabha is a daily wage labourer. For an additional income source he planned to start a dairy business by purchasing a dairy cow. His daily wages were very low and was not adequate for a normal life like others. He is maintaining the cow in his own compound as there is enough space to feed and take care of the cow. His wife is also supporting the family by taking care of the cow and its maintenance. They are nurturing the cow with utmost concern because it will be the greatest income source within a few months after giving birth to a calf. So far they don’t have any debts and hereafter they will never depend on their relatives or neighbors for the financial support. Rather he will help his sister to get quality education by encouraging her to pursue her higher studies. He will be in charge of his sister’s education. From now on they will live a dignified life. 6
