Migrant worker and family starts business in their own village Mrs. Veera went to Kuwait through an agent in February 2020. For one month she was working as a domestic worker in a house in Kuwait. They never gave a proper meal to her. She was mentally tortured and so she escaped from that house without even receiving the 1st month salary. Later she got employed with another family in Kuwait. That family was from KeralaTamilnadu. She worked as a domestic help for 3 months in that house and she got Rs. 30,000 as salary. They treated her with dignity; they took good care of her. During the period her health issues (Kidney infection) got worse, they paid for her medical expenses. As she lost her original passport in that house, they helped to get exit permit in place of passport to return to her hometown. Due to substance abuse, her husband has been going through severe health issues for the past few years. Her family is living below the poverty line. Mrs. Veera and her husband have planned to start a small shop selling fruits in her own village. They received her reintegration support during the month of August. They bought a moving cart, weighing machine, baskets and also she purchased all kinds of fruits from a wholesale market. As she has a health issue, her husband is supporting her new business. Profit per day is around Rs. 500. With the profit they earn out of the fruit business they are paying her son’s education fees and also they are paying back their debts in instalments. 9
