How should brands and (r)etailers uphold the commitments they make after publishing the wage assurance statement? The public statement is a rst step, intended to provide workers with the assurance that brands and (r)etailers are taking responsibility. Further steps to full ll that commitment in an accountable and transparent way can be included in the enforceable, legally binding agreement that is foreseen to be negotiated on the Severance Guarantee Fund. Brands and (r)etailers should not, however, delay doing what they must do today to get workers in their supply chains the income they so desperately need.
