Abstract: AFWA worked with partner unions to understand and analyse the fast-moving changes and we now release the report- ‘GarmentWorkers under Threat from Labour Deregulation in Asia - A Review of recent Labourand Employment Law changes in Cambodia, India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka’. The report is a comparative analysis of labour law changes across Asia and highlights the commonalities across these nations. It highlights what has been changed in the laws and why it is important. These industry-backed labour reforms have reduced workers’ power, increased informality, lowered minimum wages, undermined strikes and sectoral bargaining, and further restricted labour consultation.
